Yes, still crying from your heartfelt ❤️ story of beautiful older women in your life. As an older woman myself, who never had children, may I be lucky enough that someone will remember me with that love!

My dear mother, who was probably never described as elegant in her life, nevertheless possessed a kind of refinement to the very end. It was born of the reverence she had for learning and her faith, her caring heart, and how she encouraged all six of her children to use their brains to the best of their abilities. She gave us grace when we didn't live up to her aspirations, or ours, and she passed away in her 80s with dignity, still beautiful to our eyes. Thanks for this meditation on older ladies (of which I am one).

This is very unlike the women I have known for many years... not until I came to the US did I meet the elegant lady-like women of this story. My 95 year old friend, all dressed up, make-up on, jewelry. My dememting friend, when going out, still dresses up to the nines. Quite a difference to me, never been pretty, porcupine style hair, who never uses make-up (I worked in a lab for a while and learned what is in it), has no Sunday clothes, wears jeans and sweatshirts even to church. Mom would have liked to be like that, though. I remember her one, lifelong lipstick, blood red. Her only make-up product ever. I remember the pics from the 50s before I came along, with these tailored dresses and needle heels. (I would probably break a leg!) Soon it will be a year since she passed, in a wheel chair, barely knowing what was going on. Not a shadow of what once was - or could have been.
